Since iOS 15, the default Weather app on iOS has been overhauled in both interface and features thanks to Apple's acquisition of the popular weather app Dark Sky in 2020.
To see the heat map from the Weather app, do the following:
Open the Weather app.
Tap the small folded map icon in the lower left corner or scroll down and tap the map in the weather view.
Tap the stack icon on the right edge, then select Temperature.
You can zoom in or out on the map to see other areas of the world. A circular icon with a temperature number that appears means that location is currently in your Weather app.
In addition to the temperature map, you can also view the rain or wind map.
Precipitation maps are animated to depict the paths of storms as well as the intensity of rain and snow. The progress bar at the bottom shows you a 12-hour forecast, which you can pause with the Pause button or fast-forward by dragging the dot on the progress bar with your finger.
The wind map also has an animation to depict the direction the wind is blowing, there is also a progress bar to see the wind speed forecast for the next hours.
You also see the option to view air quality maps but this is currently limited to Canada, Mainland China, Germany, France, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, UK and United States only.
